Temecula, CA – The Occupy Movement and the time I spent involved opened me up to a new level in life and activism. Obtaining my medical marijuana rec came from that experience as well as the publication of my book Memoirs, but more central than those accomplishments was that I became aware of the their importance for my personal movement growth. For this I credit all the wonderful and unique people I met in camp at the foot of the Daily Planet Building, LA’s City Hall.

Two of the people that impressed me most with genuine intelligence, integrity, and warm friendship under the blanket of ancient trees which completely blocked the LA skyline, were Jeanette Perez and Patrick Moore, a duo well suited to sit at any council table. Recently I ran back into them at a members-only cannabis social club called The Tree House, closed now but in the process of moving closer to downtown.

So in keeping up with the growing demand of knowledge for the world’s most useful plant, the Temecula Calendar is proud to welcome onboard the male side of cannabis, brought to us from our Professor Hemp, Patrick Moore, who in conjunction with the Calendar’s herbologist ChaCha Va Voom representing the Mary Jane side, will fill us in on the business side of cannabis through his innovative series, HempOvations

The first episode appears after the jump.

And now Professor Hemp and how maybe one day here in the valley you may able to get a house with more than just 'solar' sustainability.

Temecula, CA – Last Wednesday night this reporter along with an unknown number of valley inhabitants witnessed one or two strange lights in the sky over the central portion of Temecula. The story has quickly hit No.1 in our Top Ten ratings. The Facebook issue has over a thousand views. For several nights after I combed the skies around the same time, 10-11PM, but saw nothing. Like most of my strange adventures, I thought it was a one-time occurrence. I was wrong!!

Coming home from an excellent Wednesday night show at The Edge which featured Keenwild (publisher Bill Gould and wife Jenny) and Black Hat Patsy, a new 6-piece cover band that includes old friends Phil Locash (Java Joz/Cuppy’s) on sax [say what!] and Tim (Spaceman Jack) on bass. It was a good night and besides the show, uneventful, until I got home around 10:30PM.

Walking in and starting to settle in from the night, I noticed bright lights again coming from the same direction through the trees. This time however, it wasn’t a single UFO or even a momentary brief second UFO. Upon first notice this time were two triangles each formed by a corner light. Later in the flap moment the lights/UFOs in the designs flattened out becoming the pattern you see above in the picture. And this time I wasn’t alone in seeing T-town’s UFOs.

Also remember, these are NOT flying saucers, they are unidentified flying objects. Hopefully someone can identify them. And this just in from the buzz this latest flap has started on Facebook about last Wednesday’s sighting.

Last Wed at dusk I saw 1 large "fireball" It was twilight so the mountain ridge was clearly defined and the fireball was hovering above slowly descending but not moving left nor right. When it dropped below the ridge I could see wiggly contrails. About 5 minutes later 3 fighter jets in formation flew right over my house possibly from March AFB on a heading right towards where I saw the ball of light. We never have jet flyovers.” – Jeff VanDam

Here too are the latest crappy cell phone pictures taken by moi.

How the lights started out when first sighted until more joined as seen in preceding pictures

Temecula, CA –  A statewide California protest at the biotechnology BIO International Convention has been called for this Thursday as worldwide resistance against the practices of the largest international chemical companies which produce genetically engineered (GMO) foods, has sparked the attention of prominent sustainability, food, environmental and water conservation groups across the Pacific.

This peaceful ‘family friendly’ demonstration is June 26th, 2014 12:00PM-5:00PM, San Diego Convention Center 111 W Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101.  Please take public transportation if possible and meet in front of Exhibit Hall D/San Diego Convention Center lobby on the side of Harbor Drive, picket line will run along sidewalk.

The Recent GMO Labeling SB 1381 which narrowly lost has morphed into SB1040. Senator Evans is a trooper and has really embraced being a champion for labeling.  She could not let GMO Labeling die without one more try so she gallantly eviscerated her Wine Bill SB 1040, did what's called a "Gut and Amend" and changed it into our GMO labeling bill. It will be heard in the Assembly Ag Committee on Thursday, June 26 at 10:30. Once again you are asked to call those on the committee. The list continues after the jump.

Here are the people to call, call, call about Yeson SB 1040

Here is the background on the BIO International Convention demonstration. The 2014 Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) International Convention currently being held at the San Diego Convention Center has attracted the opposition of thousands of members of environmental and consumer advocacy groups in California and Hawaii including Babes Against Biotech, Ocean Defenders, March Against Monsanto, March Against Monsanto San Diego, Label GMOs San Diego and Label GMOs (California) International legendary surf group Da Hui, which defends the oceans and land in Hawaii, is connecting the San Diego and Hawaii surf communities in solidarity with the international food and sustainability movement.

Organizers are targeting the world’s largest industry trade group BIO and chemical companies manufacturing pesticides and producing pesticide-promoting open air genetically modified organisms (GMOs) across the globe. Corporate offenders include chemical companies Monsanto, Dow, DuPont/Pioneer, BASF, Bayer and Syngenta. These companies are responsible for genetically engineering crops to be sprayed with pesticides linked to birth defects, cancer, environmental biohazards, superfund sites and numerous health concerns. Widespread global genetic contamination of agricultural crops through pollen drift and health and environmental risks of GE associated pesticides, has led to the prohibition and rejection of GE crops in 32 countries and the labeling of GE foods in more than 62 countries.

Temecula, CA – Living in a town where street-corner preachers who play guitar have their charitable tax-exempt 501c designations celebrated in the local mainstream press by crowing career
politicians, you might think all life here in this Christian stronghold is held in the same noticeable light. Unfortunately that is not the case.

Thankfully one of the aspects of any small town press is bringing attention to those left in the shadows, often times almost isolated in their illness. Recently attending a birthday bash at a local cannabis growing collective, I met Mitchel Larsen [no relation to Sam Larsen, x-15North, Glee], someone with a disorder that I had never heard of, chronic bilateral radiculopathy. This is the story of Mitchel Larsen and the diy way to funding for those without the golf tournament connections.

I am 23 and I have chronic bilateral radiculopathy with damaged nerve roots in my lumbar spine and herniated and bulging discs in my cervical spine. My debilitating condition causes me chronic pain in my entire body and I am unable to do most things for myself. My wife is my sole caregiver right now but I desperately need someone who is trained to handle someone in my situation.
I am in need of a service dog as well as a power wheelchair, and several other assistance tools. I also need to be able to see a chiropractor and massage therapist several times a week to treat my symptoms and alleviate my pain which is something that insurance does not cover.

My wife and I live paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford any of the things that I desperately need. We can barely afford my medication and we need all the help we can get.” – November 19, 2013

“My condition is getting worse. It has now been 16 months since I was diagnosed with a simple "sprained thoracic spine" and here I am now, unable to walk and all over body pain with a multitude of neurological symptoms. For the last year I have been told by multiple doctors that I need to see a neurologist and my primary care doctor (an orthopedic surgeon) has told me repeatedly that he just can't help me but work comp still refuses to let me transfer to a neurologist.

For about the last 3 months I have been having non-epileptic seizures which have been getting worse. I need to see a specialist and I am going to be forced to pay out of pocket with money that I just don't have. My wife has to work and cannot be home with me 24/7 to care for me. I am becoming desperate for an in-home care taker who can better care for my needs.” – 5 months ago
“I have seen no improvement in my condition so far and it seems to me that the doctors have given up trying to figure out what is wrong. Every 6 weeks it is another hour drive to Riverside to hear the same line: "I don't know what's wrong with you, you need to see a neurologist" my scripts for narcotics are refilled and I do it all over in 6 weeks. Work Comp insurance company, Employers, refuses to even acknowledge that they have received a request from my orthopedic surgeon to send me to neurology. It seems that they will continue to play these games with me indefinitely. If my doctors won't diagnose me I cannot apply for Disability, leaving me to try to survive off of nothing.

Employers also refuse to pay for the pharmaceuticals (which I don't want to be taking in the first place) and they will not cover my medical supplies such as the adult diapers that I am now required to wear. I have been managing my symptoms as best as I can with cannabis however that is another medical expense that insurance and especially Work Comp will not cover. I am only able to consume 1 gram of concentrated cannabis [tincture] per week because that is all my wife and I can afford to squeeze out of our budget. To be able to actually heal* myself, I will need to be consuming closer to a gram a day. I am unable to grow my own from my wheelchair and I need help with this enormous medical expense.” – 2 months ago

I was finally able to get some new MRI's done, of the cervical and lumbar. What they came back with was 2.0 mm herniated discs at C4-C5 and C6-7 with spinal stenosis that is pressing on C5 and C7 nerve exiting roots, Hemangioma at C6, and myospasms causing a straightening of the cervical lordosis. They also came back with 2.7 mm disc herniated discs at L4-L5 and L5-S1 with myospasms causing a straightening of the lumbar lordotic curvature. I am still wheelchair bound and unable to dress myself, get to a toilet, or transfer myself from my bed to my wheelchair without the assistance of my wife which is exasperating her back pain. An in- home nurse to help is necessary but WorkComp is ignoring the requests sent by my doctors along with the request for a TENS unit to help control my pain.

My seizures still cannot be controlled. On June 4th I was admitted to the hospital because of a 20 minute seizure. I simply cannot afford the amount of cannabis oil that I need to eat to control my condition. I spent 4 days in the hospital where they ran a brain MRI, EEG, EKG, chest x-ray, and a tremendous amount of blood work and I was given no answers as to why I am in the state that I am in. Because of the hospital stay I now have a $1300 medical bill, and that is with insurance. Even with the finding from the spinal MRI's, it is going to be a long, expensive journey to find what is wrong and how I cancontrol it.

Please help however you can. My medication is expensive and so are my hospital bills. I can't do this on my own.” – 9 days ago

(Ed note: With only $122 dollars raised since Nov 2013 and having 423 Facebook friends which equates to 29 cents a person, the Temecula Calendar will donate $20 by July 4th to Mitchel’s GoFundIt. Good Luck, Mitchel. *- Cannabis ingestion has been shown to ‘cure’ chronic illnesses like cancer, mitigate disorders like autism, and rebuff ailments like polio and MS.)

Temecula, CA – Living in the United States of Amnesia, it wasn’t surprising that the media trotted
some other news story to take people’s minds off the still polluting Japanese nuclear power plant complex, Fukushima, years ago.

In this report video filed not long ago, the narrator takes us back to the events which happened, what we were told, how they lied to us, and what, if any progress, is being made. This ‘wormwood’ drama is forecasted in Revelation which states what will happen and is happening.

Though the video is disturbing or would be if this were the only disaster potentially threatening humankind, it is only one of probably ten event horizons that can doom us beyond our own country’s egotism. Whatever is coming, we don’t have to wait long, that part of history is behind us.

And now, we check in on Japan’s Fukushima and the sheep being radiated to a slow death there under an authoritarian culture. Somewhere, whales are going ‘Booyah!!
